Shipping Process for Out-of-State Clients

We accept birds from out-of-state clients for taxidermy. After completing your project, we’ll custom-build a crate to fit your mount and ship it back to you. However, please note that we no longer ship geese unless it's a dead mount.

Preparing Your Bird for Shipment:

  • Use wall insulation to secure the bird in the box to keep it cold, sandwiching it for protection.
  • Wrap the bird’s head and feet in wet paper towels. If this wasn’t done beforehand, please add the wet paper towels, ensure the paper towels are frozen before shipping.
  • Birds must be in zip lock bags. ( NO grocery bags, garbage bags, nylon socks, or vacuum sealed bags) Ducks can fit into 1-2 gallon zip lock bags depending on the size of the bird. Small to Medium size geese (Cacklers/ Snow Geese) can fit into 2.5 gallon zip lock bags. Double Bagging will help for extra protection.
  • Deposit money can be sent with the  package (cash or checks). Paypal or Venmo can be used to send your deposit as well. Venmo- ( Cayden-Veland) Paypal- (caydenveland@gmail.com)
  • Ship your bird via overnight or 2-day shipping to prevent spoilage, and have it sent on a Monday or Tuesday to avoid weekend delays.

Required Documentation: You’ll need to print and fill out a document and federal bird tag to include with your shipment. You can find this at the bottom of the page. If you're sending multiple specimens, list all birds on one single form with the necessary details. Each Bird will need its own seperate Federal Tag. Don’t forget to read, sign, and date the disclaimer at the bottom of the Federal Migatory Bird Records. Ensure the paperwork, federal tags, and deposit are kept separate from the frozen bird to avoid moisture damage.
